STREAMING POLICY
Objective and Application
The IJFC streaming policy aims to maximise player participation and enjoyment by improving the skills of all registered players. This policy applies when there are enough players in an age group to form two or more teams.
Purpose
Enable players to participate in teams appropriate to their ability
Allow players to play at a level that enhances enjoyment and confidence
Ensure players feel valued and required in their team
Respect player preferences for higher or lower division teams
Player Preferences
The first step is for players, through their parents or guardians, to nominate their preferred team. The Team Manager will collect these preferences.
Team Formation Principles
When forming two sides in the same age group, the club will aim for even numbers in each team.
Assessment Process
Preliminary Assessment: Towards the end of pre-season, the previous year's coaches and the Director of Coaching will select preliminary squads based on intra-club and practice matches.
Coaching Team: Player assessments will be conducted by a Coaching Team consisting of:
Coaches
Director of Coaching
Independent Coaching Specialist (not involved with the age group)
Evaluation Criteria: Players will be assessed based on:
Performance in skill-based exercises
Performance in various positions during games and drills
Past year's performance
Non-playing factors (attitude, behaviour, teamwork, leadership)
Team Allocation
The Coaching Team will submit player assessments and suggested team allocations for all registered players.
The IJFC committee, in consultation with the football department, retains the right to allocate players at its discretion.
Players will be formally advised of their team selection in writing or via a meeting.
Players unhappy with the selection can raise the issue in writing to the IJFC committee for review.
In-Season Considerations
The teams selected prior to the first season game are intended to be final.
YJFL policy permits player rotations between sides in the same age group for the first 4 rounds of the season.
Any necessary player movement after the first 4 rounds will be determined by the football department in consultation with the coaching group.
Training
IJFC prefers all teams in the same age group to train together (same night, venue, and time), subject to coach availability.
Training sessions may include joint warm-up and cool-down drills, with team-specific activities in between.
This streaming policy aims to create a fair and enjoyable environment for all players while considering individual preferences and abilities.
